Walk into Workforce Boulder County and the silence is as striking as the rows of empty chairs.
This is what 2.6 percent unemployment looks like.
"Nobody needs us anymore," said Workforce Executive Director Erin Jones. She is only half joking.
Last month, the agency, charged with helping residents find work, recorded 36,134 job openings in the county, more than double the 14,924 registered for the same period just two years ago. The phones ringing there these days are more likely to be calls from desperate employers than desperate workers.
